TRANSPORT

Transport & Visas

There are daily direct flights to Ireland from a wide range of cities in the UK, US, Europe and the UAE. Thanks to two major low cost Irish airlines – Ryanair and Aer Lingus – as well as dozens of other international carriers, our international airports in Dublin and Shannon are able to welcome more and more visitors from all over the world into Ireland every single day.

Health & Medical

All event participants (athletes, coaches and team support) are recommended to obtain travel insurance prior to booking flights and health insurance before leaving your home country.

The Irish healthcare system is based on individuals carrying personal insurance. WFDF and the WUCC LOC does not provide coverage for participants outside of the general first aid administered at the fields. There are always risks associated with playing Ultimate. Although WUCC will have medical staff on site to deal with first aid and assess critical injuries, there may be injuries or illness in which players need medical attention that requires emergency visits to local hospitals.

WFDF and the LOC kindly request that all players and event participants acknowledge these risks and understand that WFDF and the LOC cannot be held liable for any risk or cost associated with injury or bad health at WUCC. All event participants should alleviate some personal financial liability by purchasing your own travel and health insurance to make sure you are covered for any medical issues or event cancellations that could arise.

Visas

Once the event bid list is published and your team is registered, we encourage each participant to make specific and timely enquiries about obtaining a visa to enter Ireland. Participants are responsible for obtaining the correct paperwork to visit Europe to compete at the WFDF 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships in Limerick.

WFDF and the LOC cannot provide specific advice on the process, however we do strongly recommend that you get started as soon as possible. WFDF will provide each National Federation with a letter confirming all teams they have registered for the event after the team fees are paid by each country in full.

WFDF no longer provides individuals with proof of participation. It is up to players to reach out to their national federation for a proof of participation letter to confirm you are rostered on the team.

We recommend EVERY TEAM makes specific enquiries to fully understand visa and travel requirements.

If you require a letter from your accommodation stating where you will be staying while in Ireland, you will need to pay your accommodation fees in full first.
